• GriefShare

A new session will be offered on Wednesday evenings, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Neumann Hall. Meetings will begin on May 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024, starting at 6pm and ending by 9pm.

There is no need to pre-register. The May 1st session will be introductions and registration forms. If you have questions regarding the program, email Janet at jyahnke@ccwauk.org.

    What is GriefShare?
GriefShare is a support group program for people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Whether you’ve experienced the loss of a spouse, parent, child (infant, young child, teen, adult, unborn), friend, sibling, coworker, or other relative. Whether the loss is very fresh or a few years old.

It is based on a 13-week video curriculum that covers various aspects of grief and healing. It is a Christ-centered program that points to Christ as the ultimate source of healing. GriefShare groups meet weekly and provide a friendly, caring, and safe environment where people can share their emotions and experiences.

Each week participants will view a 30-minute video on a grief-related topic, featuring valuable insights from counselors, pastors, and others who’ve lost a loved one. Then your group will discuss the video and how it applies to your lives. You’ll also receive a book with helpful tips and exercises for personal support throughout the week.

GriefShare groups last 13 weeks, and you can begin attending at any time. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the full 13-week group more than once. People have said they find new tips and guidance each time, as they are dealing with new seasons of grieving.

No one is required to talk or share. People usually find that it helps to express their concerns, ask questions, and share their stories, but you are welcome to come and simply listen to others’ experiences and the expert advice from the videos.

Embarking on the road to creating your dream family, women often don't anticipate the hurdles that may lie ahead. However, when faced with the stark reality that achieving a baby might be more difficult than imagined, it can feel like a punch to the gut. Pouring heart and soul into manifesting that dream, because all you ever envisioned was being a mom, the journey's end can leave you at a crossroads. Now that the path to parenthood has taken an unexpected turn, questions arise: What do you do now? Who are you if not a mom? In this workshop, I invite you to join me on this deeply personal and transformative exploration. Together, we'll navigate the emotions, uncertainties, and opportunities that accompany embracing a childless life. Through candid conversations, heartfelt reflections, and a supportive community, we'll delve into the layers of identity, reclaiming the essence of who you are beyond the role of a parent. Guided by facilitation and surrounded by understanding peers, you'll have the space to honor your journey, grieve losses, and unearth the dormant passions and aspirations that may have been overshadowed by the pursuit of motherhood. We'll explore strategies for self-care, resilience, and self-discovery, empowering you to redefine your path and embrace a life filled with purpose and possibility. Whether you're just beginning to navigate life after fertility treatments or seeking deeper understanding and healing along the way, this workshop, with Christel Hutter, Infertility Empowerment Transition Coach, offers a compassionate and empowering space to uncover the beauty and strength inherent in embracing your authentic self while embracing a childless life.
