Parish role.

Last weekend, we celebrated the feast of Corpus Christi, a solemnity which celebrates the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. We also began the Eucharistic Revival’s Parish Year. This second phase of the Revival will “foster Eucharistic devotion at the parish level” so that we can “renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist” (eucharisticrevival.org).

Within the Catholic Community of Waukesha, we will frame our approach to the Parish Year following the examples set for us by each of our four patrons:

·   St. Mary is the Mother of the Eucharist. She models perfect love and affection for our Lord while calling us to moments of personal encounter with Christ.

·   St. Joseph is the protector of the Eucharist. His example of reverence and care for Jesus calls us to full and active participation in worship.

·   St. John Neumann is the teacher and evangelizer of the Eucharist. His dedication to Catholic education calls us to engage in life-long faith formation.

·   St. William, builder of community, sets an example of bringing people together. His witness calls us to come together as a community with a unified Eucharistic identity.

Guided by these examples, we will offer opportunities for personal encounter, active worship, faith formation, and community building. We hope to offer opportunities for families, couples, and individuals to encounter our Lord in a personal and moving way so that each will feel equipped to share our faith with the world. We invite all parishioners to watch for and participate fully in these opportunities.

We are not only being called to participate in these encounters of faith, but we are also called to witness our faith to others so they may have new or renewed relationships with Jesus and the Body of Christ. With that in mind, the bulletin and Flocknote emails will feature a weekly witness from a CCWauk member. Hopefully these witness stories will encourage you to seek out and share your own faith revival.

If you have a story of faith you would like to share, we would love to hear it and share it. You can email Erin Erickson at eerickson@ccwauk.org. For more information about Eucharistic Revival, visit www.eucharisticrevival.org.

Welcome to the year of parish revival!
